Benjamin Millepied is a French dancer and choreographer, who has lived and worked in the United States after joining the New York City Ballet in 1995, where he became a soloist in 1998 and a principal in 2002. He has also created choreography for the company, and choreographed pieces for other major companies. He retired from NYCB in 2011. He initiated the LA Dance Project, leading it from 2011 to 2014. He was Director of Dance at the Paris Opera Ballet from October 2014 and resigned in 2016. He is known for his work in the movie Black Swan (2010), which he choreographed, and in which he starred as a dancer. Millepied met actress Natalie Portman on the set of Black Swan in early 2009 and reportedly left his live-in girlfriend at the time, Isabella Boylston, a principal dancer at the American Ballet Theatre, to begin a relationship with the actress. Millepied and Portman wed in a Jewish ceremony held in Big Sur, California on 4 August 2012. The family lived in Paris for a time, after Millepied accepted the position of director of dance with the Paris Opera Ballet. They have two children: a son Aleph (b. 2011) and a daughter Amalia (b. 2017). In January 2014, Millepied said he was in the process of converting to Judaism (his wife's faith). A young and fiercely independent woman, Carmen, is forced to flee her home in the Mexican desert following the brutal murder of her mother. She survives an illegal border crossing into the US, only to be confronted by a lawless volunteer border guard. When the border guard and his patrol partner, Aidan—a Marine with PTSD—become embroiled in a deadly standoff, Carmen and Aidan are forced to escape together. They make their way north toward Los Angeles in search of Carmen’s mother’s best friend, the mercurial Masilda and owner of La Sombra nightclub - a sanctuary of music and dance. Carmen and Aidan find both solace and their unwavering love for each other in the safety of Masilda’s magical refuge, but time is running out as the police hunt closes in.

신비로운 유니콘이 뛰놀던 아주 먼 옛날 옛적, 마법에 걸린 숲에는 젊고 아름다운 소녀 오데뜨가 살고 있었어요. 그런데 모두가 행복하게 지내고 있던 어느 날, 사악한 마법사 로트바르트가 숲에 나타나면서 어둠이 드리워지기 시작했어요. 로트바르트는 숲을 지키고 있던 요정의 여왕을 물리친 후 숲을 자신의 차지로 만들고 숲에 사악한 마법을 걸어놓았답니다. 그리고 아름다운 오데뜨에게 반한 로트바르트는 오데뜨를 백조의 모습으로 만들어 버렸습니다. 낮에는 백조의 모습으로 밤에는 인간의 모습으로 살아야 하는 오데뜨는 자신의 이러한 처지가 슬프고 힘겹게 느껴지지만 곧 용감하게 슬픔을 이겨냅니다. 오데뜨는 자신이 로트바르트의 마법에 걸린 숲과 마법에 걸린 사람들을 구해야 하는 운명이라고 생각합니다. 그런데 과연 어리고 약한 소녀의 힘으로 무시무시한 마법사와 싸울 수 있을까요? 오데뜨가 갖고 있는 것은 단지 용기와 정직함, 그리고 지혜뿐입니다. 그러던 어느 날, 홀로 마법사에게 대항하고 있는 오데뜨 앞에 아름답고 멋진 왕자가 이 숲을 찾아오고 그는 그만 오데뜨의 모습에 한눈에 반해버리고 맙니다. 오데뜨는 이 왕자님과 함께 숲을 지킬 수 있을까요?
