O mais famoso John Beck reeditou o filme original japonês. Eric Carter, do United Nation News, relata o surgimento de Godzilla no momento em que uma empresa farmacêutica japonesa busca publicidade com seu próprio monstro. Novas filmagens com atores americanos foram inseridas junto com várias cenas excluídas, alterando a estrutura narrativa e comédia do original para centrar em uma reportagem da ONU não presente no original. Grande parte da trilha sonora original também foi substituída em favor de músicas da Biblioteca Universal. Imagens de arquivo de The Mysterians também foram inseridas ao longo do filme. Devido ao acordo de licenciamento entre a Toho e a Universal, a edição americana é a versão primária e mais amplamente disponível do filme.

After accidentally killing an opponent in the ring, a professional wrestler takes a job at a group home for youth offenders. But when a psychopath wearing a wrestling mask begins butchering the teenage residents, their rehabilitation will become a no-holds-barred battle for survival. In an effort to find an economic means of purifying salt water, a joint U.S.-Japanese military command is set up on an isolated Japanese island where an unusual salt water lake is situated. However, their purifying experiments arouse the prehistoric monster Obaki from hibernation at the lake's bottom, and it proceeds to attack Japan. Although made by a U.S. independent film company, this film was based on a Japanese Toho monster film of 1958, "Daikaiju Varan", from which all of the monster effects scenes and a few incidental dramatic shots were edited into it.
