"Coming Out Party" is a celebration of love, life and freedom as seven gay and lesbian comic storytellers share their personal stories of "coming out" to family, friends, and co-workers, and living "out" and proud. Saša, a Belgrade University law student, tells her parents that she and her boyfriend Stefan are moving to Canada. That same night Saša and Stefan suffer a car accident. Saša wakes up in hospital and meets Stefan's charming and clever sister Lana, a photographer living in Paris. Stefan remains in hospital to recover. Saša finds out that her mother Lila is having an affair. Her father, a well-known judge, desperately tries to keep the family together. Lana becomes Saša's closest friend - a person able to prove that life is sometimes a mere game. In the midst of historical and family chaos, Saša gets involved in a love relationship with her boyfriend's sister.

Three poetic tales of seeking the true identity. In the first story, Jing, a blind singer, falls in love with her band's tomboy accordionist Diego. In another time and place, Lily, an elderly lesbian and Yen, her gay friend, create an unexpected bond and support each other in a time of crisis. Finally, we see Diego before she joined the band, when as a teenager she came to grips with her gender identity.

When Molly, the 21 year-old sister of Maarten, departs the family home, she leaves her older brother with empty nest syndrome. But it also opens up new opportunities for him, such as the possibility to explore his love for Arthur, a closet gay. Molly and Maarten wrestle with their personal relationships and also their relationship with one another, but fate nevertheless seems determined to strike them both down.
