Como última aventura, quatro amigos: Lewis Medlock, Ed Gentry, Drew Ballinger e Bobby Trippe, homens extremamente urbanos, resolvem fazer uma última aventura descendo as corredeiras do rio, em busca de adrenalina, emoção e maior contato com a natureza. The day after the funeral of Varlam Aravidze, the mayor of a small Georgian town, his corpse turns up in his son's garden.
