Em Los Angeles Nick Beam (Tim Robbins), um publicitário, acredita ter descoberto que sua mulher (Kelly Preston) está tendo um caso com seu chefe. Ele então pega seu carro e começa a dirigir insanamente, até ser abordado por Terrance Paul (Martin Lawrence), um negro desempregado que quer roubá-lo.
