Live at Montreux 2000 is a concert DVD by Lou Reed, released in 2005 by Eagle Vision. It was recorded at the 2000 Montreux Jazz Festival in Montreux, Switzerland. Reed performed eight songs from the Album Ecstasy plus a few older ones. Lou Reed is one of the most influential artists of the rock era. From his days in the sixties as the main singer and songwriter of the Velvet Underground and through his mercurial solo career he has kept his audience and the critics on their toes with dramatic changes of musical direction from album to album. Underpinning everything however has been his unquestionable ability as a songwriter and performer of the highest class. The first concert saw the purple yoda attack new material and old classics. A spur of the moment performer who can turn on a dime, literally and metaphorically, he covered James Brown, Curtis Mayfield, Aretha Franklin and Chaka Khan before delivering an unscheduled second encore of "Purple Rain" in honor of the late Claude Nobs.

Despite the enormous success of his 1973 debut album TUBULAR BELLS, Mike Oldfield's first concert tour wasn't until 1979. His second, the European Adventure Tour in 1981, stopped in Switzerland for the Montreux Jazz Festival. The show sold out, the crowd was alive, and the atmosphere was electric!
