Judge Nash is highly regarded for his position and decisions in the courtroom. He's approached by a special agent from a government task force investigating corrupt judges and lawyers, and asked to participate in a sting operation. Initially it's against some people Nash has no trouble believing are corrupt, but as the scope of the sting widens to include some of his friends, he tries to get out. That's when the agent threatens to reveal information that would embarrass Judge Nash if he doesn't continue.

The film takes place in Russia during the World War I. Three Hungarian POWs are on the run from their Russian captives. One of them gets shot down. Lieutenant Balogh and Miska, his servant, are brought before Szergej Dragow. The Russian offers to take them on to serve him. Balogh says yes, only to attempt to escape later.

The project is given to no-nonsense Gen. Leslie Groves who selects physicist J. Robert Oppenheimer to head the Los Alamos Laboratory in New Mexico, where the bomb is built. As World War II draws to a close, Szilard has second thoughts about atomic weapons, and policy makers debate how and when to use the bomb.

Cathy Mahone was once married to an Arab and they had a daughter. They have since divorced and shared custody of their daughter. The Christmas of 1944. The Pásztor family (father, mother, four daughters and a grandchild), are spending the holidays at their country farm. Péter, mothers apple of the eye, soon arrives, and has no objections when his soldiers uniform is made to disappear during the night. The Soviet army, arriving in the footsteps of the fleeing Hungarian army, is commandeering. At night, the soldiers turn up at the house where young women are abiding.
