Sinopse
Quando Ephraim, um menino etíope, vai morar com parentes distantes em outra cidade, leva consigo seu inseparável cordeiro. Um dia, no entanto, seu tio anuncia que vai sacrificar o animal para uma festa religiosa que acontecerá em breve. Mas Ephraim fará de tudo para salvar seu único amigo e voltar para casa.
A advogada Helena é uma jovem idealista que defende crianças e jovens infratores. Ela tem a custódia de seu irmão caçula, Caio. Órfãos, os dois têm um relacionamento de muita cumplicidade e o afeto entre eles é visível, mas Caio é um adolescente instável e impulsivo, que vive cercado por amigos de reputação duvidosa.
