Gedo (2000)

Dear Pyongyang is a documentary film by Zainichi Korean director Yang Yong-hi (Korean: 양영희, Hanja: 梁英姬) about her own family. It was shot in Osaka Japan (Yang's hometown) and Pyongyang, North Korea, In the 1970s, Yang's father, an ardent communist and leader of the pro-North movement in Japan, sent his three sons from Japan to North Korea under a repatriation campaign sponsored by ethnic activist organisation and de facto North Korean embassy Chongryon; as the only daughter, Yang herself remained in Japan. However, as the economic situation in the North deteriorated, the brothers became increasingly dependent for survival on the care packages sent by their parents. The film shows Yang's visits to her brothers in Pyongyang, as well as conversations with her father about his ideological faith and his regrets over breaking up his family.

Rare was the film in 1973 that incorporated the star's name in the title. One of the few such films was Screaming Ninja, aka Wang Yu, King of Boxing. The story is set in China in the early 1900x. Essentially playing an extension of himself, action-star Wang-Yu spends much of the time defending himself against evil martial-arts masters. He also tries to make sense of a tragic incident in his past.

But one fears how Somas former assistant Kokubu, now second in command of Takeda, should react. Soon Soma assassinated by three hired men, but one of them, Karasaki, who has just escaped an assassin is still possible to Masaki for help, explaining that Kokubu hired him. Masaki agrees to help him, but this also means that he exposes himself to danger.

In explicit abattoir photos and much symbolism, Matsui tells about the struggles of ethnic Koreans in Japan. A butcher's love affair and his relationship with the animals he kills frame the story.

Eddie (Donnie Yen) is a young man good at both fighting and breakdancing. His cousin Stella (May Lo) has a crush on him, but apparently he loves someone else. With no choice remaining Eddie, decides to meet Power for a showdown.
