Duas histórias de crimes se cruzam em Hong Kong. Um frio assassino de aluguel quer finalmente deixar o mundo da violência, o que não agrada sua parceira que está secretamente apaixonada por ele. Enquanto isso, um ex-recluso mudo encontra repetidamente uma mulher durante suas noites de caos.

É Halloween em 1997, e também a última noite na escola para dois adolescentes skatistas, que vão deixar para trás a fase escolar e adentrar na famosa fase adulta. A água está subindo lentamente, e para manter a sua construção original, coloca cubos em cima de cubos para se manter fora da água. Assim quando ele desce e vê a níveis anteriores de sua casa (hoje submersa) ele relembra vários momentos de sua vida.
