A Modern Yakuza: The Code of The Lawless (1969)

Yamamoto, um yakuza cuja família foi dizimada numa guerra de gangues, é obrigado a sair do país. Depois de ser exilado para os Estados Unidos, ele procura o irmão adotado em Los Angeles e é acolhido pelo clã dele: juntos, eles vão enfurecer um dos sindicatos criminosos mais poderosos da cidade.

Através disto, o diretor Takeshi Kitano, nos conta três tristes e arrebatadoras histórias de amor, O jovem Matsumoto, abandona sua namorada Sawako, para casar-se com a filha do chefe, mas quando sua ex tenta se matar, larga tudo para viver com ela de forma miserável. Nukui, é fã da cantora pop Haruna Yamaguchi, e quando ela sofre um acidente que lhe deforma o rosto, ele toma uma drástica decisão para confortá-la. Hiro, abandona a mulher para trabalhar com a máfia japonesa e, trinta anos mais tarde, tenta reencontrar seu grande amor.

O embaixador japonês está visitando Marselha para conhecer as táticas anti-gangs da polícia local. Durante a visita, entretanto, ele é seqüestrado por um grupo que está trabalhando para a Yakuza. O jovem oficial Emilien está determinado a resgatar o embaixador e a oficial Petra (sua namorada), que também foi seqüestrada, e restaurar a honra para seu departamento. Poucos dias depois ele recebe um telefonema de um advogado do Japão, avisando que Miko, o grande amor de sua vida e que estava desaparecida há 20 anos, havia falecido recentemente. Hubert, parte imediatamente para Tóquio, onde descobre que Miko, lhe deixou duzentos milhões de dólares e a posse de Yumi, sua filha problemática. Desconfiado, Hubert, procura Momo, seu antigo parceiro na polícia, sendo que juntos descobrem a verdade em torno da misteriosa morte de Miko, e seu envolvimento com a máfia japonesa.

Emu (Julie Condra), a pintora, se encanta por ele, e mesmo sabendo que ele iria matá-la por ter testemunhado o crime, ela espera por ele para poder lhe pedir um último desejo. Por causa da execução, ele está sendo perseguido pela máfia japonesa Yakuza, mas a organização não deveria subestimar o poder de matar de Freeman (Mark Dacascos).

Freelance reporter “Scoop” Machida is hot on the trail of a prostitution ring called the Black Line, when he is framed for the murder of a young woman. Forced to clear his own name, the handsome journalist sinks deeper into the Black Line’s rotten swamp of drugs, prostitution, and murder and finds unexpected help in Maya, a steamy female gambler familiar with the neon-lit streets, shadowy alleyways, and seedy nightclubs he must navigate. The closest film in the Line series to classic American film noir, Ishii’s Black Line is a pulpy assortment of crime film conventions including the starkly expressionistic black and white cinematography by Jûgyô Yoshida, a jazzy music score by Michiaki Watanabe, and a sleazy screenplay by Ishii and Ichirô Miyagawa.

Follows the fluctuating fortunes of three ronin in feudal Japan who wander from castle to castle, selling their services to whichever lord will fill their rice bowls. Though they use the servants' entrance, they still feel themselves bound by the samurai code of Bushido; and this tension leads to tragedy.

‘Tattooed Life' begins with a parasol wielding Yakuza assassin attacking a rickshaw. It almost looks like feudal Japan until somebody pulls a gun and we're reminded that it's the 20th century. Post-shooting, the assassin delivers his bounty to his brother (to pay for his art school education) before getting ambushed in one of the few rickshaw-jacking incidents in film history, and being rescued by his art-student brother. In the aftermath, one brother is marked for death by the Yakuza, and the other brother won't go to art school with blood on his hands, so they decide the perfect way to deal with such hardships is to become fugitive construction workers in northern Japan . And why not?

In Los Angeles, naive and lonely waitress and aspirant singer Carol finds an advertisement for a job opportunity in Tokyo. Traveling to Japan to work at the White Orchid nightclub, she discovers the scheme of prostitution in the club that belongs to Yakuza. Alone, without money and her passport, she is protected by Shiro, but pressed by the managers Madame Mori and her husband Hatanaka to be receptive to client's proposals.

The sixth chapter of Jingi Naki Tatakai series With the endless power struggle. The extraordinary combination of Kinji Fukasaku and Bunta Sugawara, along with new ideas and a strong touch of realism, created the sixth movie of the series that describes 'The War of Hiroshima Gangsters' which had lasted almost 30 years after World War II. It can be called the Japanese secret post WWII history. It focuses on the ugly, violent inside struggle of the Yamamori Group of 1959 in Kure City, Hiroshima. Director Kinji Fukasaku, the master of portraying violence and humanity, said "Having making the five previous movies, I found those characters very interesting. So I took a deeper look into them this time." He made this shocking movie with high enthusiasm and revealed the core of gangster's struggle which has never been touched before.

The seventh in the shocking "Jingi Naki Tatakai" movie series, which exposes the true lives of the yakuza that is hidden by a mask of "jingi". The next stage of this continuing drama is the Kanmon Channel where the Owada and the Kyoei groups are battling for territorial rights and drug smuggling. The Owada sends their man, Tetsu, and his friend Shuji to kill the Kyoei boss. With the promise of fame and riches, Shuji takes the fall and goes to jail for 7 years. But when he's released, he discovers that he and Tetsu have been all but forgotten by the Owada. Feeling betrayed, Shuji takes natters into his own hands and becomes an unsuspecting pawn in an internal conflict and an assassination attempt on the Owada boss. And now angered, Shuji seeks revenge...

Ryu, a low life thug, along with his mother, steals a shipment of drugs. Now with his machine gun and a gang of hoodlums, he must face the yakuza and the mafia.

A small yakuza gang is taken to war by a more powerful rival after a violent bar brawl involving members of both gangs. Young boss, Masaki, must decide whether to disband his dwindling gang or fight.

When Masaki find themselves at a bar owned by his friend Akemi and ponder the recent strange happenings. He later accepted a proposal from his old rival Hattori and join the Todo-gang. A member, Hazama, beeing jealous over Masakis high rank and starts planning ways to get rid of the newcomer from the gang.

Soma goes to Masakis allowed back to his former gang, led by Takeda who asked for his help since he had problems controlling their own men. But one fears how Somas former assistant Kokubu, now second in command of Takeda, should react. Soon Soma assassinated by three hired men, but one of them, Karasaki, who has just escaped an assassin is still possible to Masaki for help, explaining that Kokubu hired him. Masaki agrees to help him, but this also means that he exposes himself to danger.

A dark and strange comedy about a bank robber with bad luck. Bungling a bank robbery turns out to be a profitable mistake for Yamazaki, an amateur crook who ends up with 80 million yen after a string of improbable accidents. But having so much cash doesn't make his life is any easier. In fact, it gets much more complicated when Yamazaki stabs a hairdresser by mistake and instantly becomes a hunted fugitive. He's just one unlucky monkey but can he turn his luck around?

A bunch of young hipsters kidnaps a loving couple and keeps them trapped in a barren landscape. To the sounds of free jazz they are performing various experiments with the couple. In the distance is a yakuza gang keeping track of the youths. Who are really experimenting with whom?

In prison for 50 years after massacring his corrupt workmates with a samurai sword in 1945, Ginji Sonesaki (Riki Takeuchi) is given the nickname of Ginji the Slasher. On his release he finds himself on the streets living with the homeless hiding from a man whose life he tried to end. His former boss and the object of Ginji's hatred is now a highly-regarded figure in politics but Ginji plans to remind him of his past transgressions and make him pay for ruining his life.
