Sinopse
O filme começa mostrando a protagonista, Zainab (Humaima Malick), prestes a ser enforcada. Ela conta a sua história para a mídia antes que isso aconteça. Ela cresceu com seis irmãs, uma mãe e um pai. O pai sempre quis um filho para que o filho pudesse ajudar nas questões financeiras da família; o pai não acredita que as mulheres tenham um emprego remunerado. Eles têm um filho intersexo (hijra (sul da Ásia) em urdu) chamado Syed Saifullah Khan ou Saifi (Amr Kashmiri). O pai (Hakim) não gosta de Saifi por ser intersexual. Saifi é profundamente amado pelo resto da sua família. Zainab é casada com um cara que vive a assediando por não ter dado à luz. Assim, ela volta para a casa do seu pai.
