Sinopse
At the age of 20, Ahmed Wahleed covered all the front pages of Norway’s newspapers with the news of having invented a mobile battery that could be charged with sunlight. Brilliant! Just what the world needed. But the world also needed a really good story about a young man with Pakistani origins, who broke through as a tech entrepreneur and was now hailed as Norway’s Mark Zuckerberg. Journalists, ministers, and even the Norwegian Crown Prince were lining up to meet the charismatic Ahmed, who was the star of TV shows. All of this is only the beginning of Emil Trier’s film about hype, illusions and easy money with a high interest rate. We will reveal more in advance, but in Trier’s masterly unravelling, the incredible robbery story becomes proof that reality can sometimes surpass fiction both in terms of twists and tragedies. But ‘Trust Me’ is also a psychologically astute film for a time when the hustler can quickly become king.
