An uneducated and noisy simpleton, Mike Philippose, arrives in a city as an organ donor for an old astrophysicist. Soon, he changes the lives of everyone around him.

Captain Kim is grievously wounded in the first days of the war. When the northern troops continue their advance, his wife and small daughters flee south to Taegu, dragging him along in a two-wheel handcart. His wife struggles to keep herself and their surviving daughter alive. Working as a market trader, she meets a kind young man -- who happens to be tall, dark and handsome.

Three mechanics in a car company are wayward husbands. Their weakness lies in drinking and spending half of their salary on the unnecessary items. The honest and meticulous cashier, Savvas, works in a business and is often pressured by his wife’s siblings to embezzle money from his job and lend it to them. When his manager, leaving on a trip, entrusts him with a million drachmas without a receipt, Savvas succumbs to the pressure and gives some of the money to his brother-in-law. In the end, however, an unexpected development awaits Savvas, since his manager is killed in an airplane crash and he has to decide what to do with the money.
