Nesta saga épica musical sobre ousar aventurar-se na Floresta, personagens famosos como Cinderela, Chapeuzinho Vermelho, João e o Pé de Feijão e Rapunzel encontram seus destinos entrelaçados com o de um padeiro humilde e sua mulher, cujo desejo de ter um filho os envia em uma missão para reverter um feitiço da Bruxa.

Giselle é uma bela princesa que foi recentemente banida por uma rainha malvada de seu mundo mágico e musical. Com isso ela agora está na Manhattan dos dias atuais, um local completamente diferente de onde vivia. Logo ela recebe a ajuda de Robert, um advogado divorciado por quem se apaixona. Só que Giselle já está prometida em casamento para o príncipe Edward, que decide também deixar o mundo mágico para reencontrar sua amada.

Como está tudo programado no mundo dos contos de fada para que haja um final feliz, o Mago (George Carlin), responsável pelo equilíbrio entre as forças do bem e do mal, decide sair em férias. Ele deixa seus assistentes, Mambo (Andy Dick) e Manco (Wallace Shawn), cuidando de tudo. Porém um erro faz com que Frieda (Sigourney Weaver), a madrasta da Cinderela, tenha a posse do cajado mágico. Seu objetivo é tomar o controle do mundo de contos de fada, fazendo com que os vilões vençam e que os finais das histórias jamais sejam felizes novamente. Isto faz com que Cinderela (Sarah Michelle Gellar), mais conhecida como Ella entre os amigos, tenha que encontrar um meio de deter Frieda, contando com a ajuda de Rick (Freddie Prinze Jr.), Manco, Mambo e um exército composto de fadas e anões.

O clássico conto da Gata Borralheira ganha uma nova versão, mostrando o que seria a “verdadeira” história da Cinderela. Danielle perde seu pai muito nova e é criada por uma madrasta muito má. Já crescida, ela se apaixona pelo Príncipe Henry, o que pode estragar os planos ambiciosos da madrasta.

Finalmente casados, Shrek e a Princesa Fiona mudam-se para o pântano. Porém, as notícias do casamento correram depressa e, logo após a lua-de-mel, recebem uma mensagem dos reis, os pais de Fiona, convidando-os para uma recepção formal. Acontece que eles ainda não sabem que a filha e o genro são dois ogres, e Shrek, antecipando problemas, viaja contrariado. A somar às dificuldades de aceitação, o casal vai ter de enfrentar a oposição do Príncipe Encantado, obcecado em casar com Fiona, e da sua mãe, a maquiavélica Fada Madrinha, desejosa de obter o poder no reino.

Shrek é um monstrinho feio, verde e mal-disposto que recebe no pântano onde vive uma visita inesperada de personagens de contos de fadas, expulsos pelo malvado Lord Farquaad do reino onde viviam. Shrek faz um acordo com Lord Farquaad, compromete-se a convencer a princesa Fiona a tornar-se Lady Farquaad. Como amigos o montro verde conta ainda com um burro, que fala pelos cotovelos!

A rainha malvada morre de ciúmes da beleza de Branca de Neve e manda mata-la. Logo, descobre que a jovem não morreu e está morando na floresta com sete amiguinhos. A princesa então é envenenada pela rainha e só o beijo de um príncipe pode salvá-la.

I love Vienna is a social comedy that explores the clash of cultures and values.

The film covers a hundred years in the lives of the Ricordi family, the Milan publishing house of the title, and the various composers and other historic personalities, whose careers intersected with the growth of the Ricordi house. It beautifully draws the parallel between the great music of the composers, the historic and social upheavals of their times, as well as the "smaller stories" of the successive generations of Ricordi.
