In December 1980, John Lennon and Yoko Ono had not spoken to the media for more than five years. With a new album to promote Lennon was prepared to speak in New York to Radio One D.J. Andy Peebles of the BBC. John surprised everyone by candidly discussing a variety of subjects he'd never spoken of before including The Beatles break-up, his relationship with Paul McCartney, his battles with addiction, political issues in the US and UK, his family and his homesickness for Liverpool. Lennon's heartfelt honesty and forthright revelations make this film all the more potent as he was brutally shot and murdered 48 hours later. John Lennon was just 40 years of age when he died. December 2020 is the 40th anniversary of his death. He would have been 80 years of age.

Laying into deep cuts like "Siberian Khatru," "Long Distance Runaround," and "I've Seen All Good People," this group of grizzled legends delivers a smoldering rock performance.

For two brief but glorious years The Syn resided at the crossroads of 60s psychedelia and pop. They shared bills at London's Marquee club with the likes of Pink Floyd and Hendrix, released some legendary underground singles ("Flowerman", "14 Hour Technicolour Dream") and created the blueprint for rock innovators Yes. Four decades later, original founding members Chris Squire (who went on to found Yes) and Steve Nardelli reunited for a new CD and their first-ever live dates in America. Yesspeak is a film chronicling the then current lineup of the progressive rock group Yes (featuring Jon Anderson, Steve Howe, Rick Wakeman, Chris Squire, and Alan White) directed by Robert Garofalo and narrated by Roger Daltrey. It was premiered in theatres across the United States on January 26, 2004, and was followed by a closed-circuit live acoustic performance by Yes in front of a small studio audience (resulting in the DVD Yes Acoustic: Guaranteed No Hiss). Divided into ten chapters, the programme systematically covers the background, history, and outlook of the group before an extended interview with each of the five members of the group. There are also discussions with members on the band's music and glimpses of the band's 2003 world tour.

A film largely from the backstage of Yes' Union tour, which was much better than the dismal Union album itself. The concert footage is interspersed with a narrative of Yes' history, told in the words of various band members. (Everyone but Banks, Moraz, Horn and Downes are present). As a reunion show, it's a strange affair, as you get to see the different configurations of Yes (Kaye and Wakeman, Rabin and Howe, White and Bruford) interacting with each other. Still, the emphasis is on the individuals themselves, and there are plenty of good stories here.

Sweet Toronto is a documentary by D.A. Pennebaker of the Toronto Rock and Roll Revival, a one day festival held September 13, 1969 at Varsity Stadium on the campus of the University of Toronto and attended by some 20,000 persons. John Lennon played as part of the Plastic Ono Band, whose members also included Yoko Ono, Klaus Voorman, Alan White, and Eric Clapton. The video also features a selection of other acts: Jerry Lee Lewis, Little Richard, and Bo Diddley.
