Em seu "Where the Wild Things Are", lançado em 2009, ele mostra-se com técnica afiadíssima e muito entrosamento com sua banda, que possui dois violinistas em sua formação, Alex DePue e Ann Marie Calhoun, os quais fazem dobras de solos e temas com o guitarrista, proporcionando uma nova roupagem às músicas. O show foi realizado no "The State Theatre", em Minneapolis, e fez parte da turnê “Sound Theories world tour”.
