Heartbroken, Matthew, an American art curator, wanders daydreaming through a maze of artworks in his hotel in Tokyo. That is, until he has a surreal encounter.

Many years ago when Cammy (Aiko Ito) was in primary school, she played Kokkurisan with 3 kids. Suddenly, a kid vanished strangely. Now Cammy is grown up and becomes a sales representative of a property company. One day, she goes to investigate about the strange cases happened in a haunted house. Coincidentally, she finds that big house was the home of her old friend who vanished in the past. in the meantime, the psychologist Yuki (Nao Nagasawa) finds that one of her patient was forced to suicide by a kind of strange strength. Before that patient died, she drew a picture of a little girl who wore red clothes and kept on screaming scarily of "Holy Angel". Beside this, the other friends of Cammy who joined to play the game of Kokkurisan in the past, also encounter strange incidents. Unreasonable disappearance cases happen in many places of the city. To reveal the truth, Cammy and Yuki decide to go back to the old place and call for Kokkurisan again!

Kayako Kirishima of the third year at a high school feels a sense of isolation in school life and vague admiration and uneasiness in the future. One day she makes friends with Endō who is isolated from her surroundings because she remained in the same class for another year. Kayako is strongly attracted by Endō who shows her a world that she didn't know.

Six women attempt to make it in current day Tokyo, living their everyday lives the best and worst they can. For them, every little moment becomes a ritual of the ordinary and the exciting, a balancing act for their dreams and hopes as the days perpetually tug on their heartstrings.

Shohei Sugiyama (Kôji Yakusho) é um típico homem de negócios japonês, que durante o trajeto do seu trabalho para casa vê Mai Kishikawa (Tamiyo Kusakari), uma bela jovem mulher, através da janela de uma escola de dança. Atraído por ela, Shohei se matricula na escola e conhece Mai, uma professora de dança. Inicialmente Mai confunde Shohei com um sedutor, mas para surpresa dela ele é um dançarino naturalmente talentoso, que só está interessado em ter uma boa parceira. Assim Mai começa a treiná-lo para uma competição.
