When the gang learns that he is planning to turn the loot over to Scotland Yard, they go gunning for him and wound him while he is on stage performing 'Falstaff.' And, although wounded, he continues with his performance, trouper that he is that believes the show must go on, while the police are apprehending the gunmen.
