An old singer coaches a young woman whom he believes will be the next singing sensation. As she starts off with her career, their bond gets stronger. An adaptation of George L. Du Maurier's novel "Trilby"

O arquiteto Peter Ibbetson é contratado pelo Duque de Towers para um trabalho de restauração em sua propriedade. Architect Peter Ibbetson is hired by the Duke of Towers to design a building for him. Ibbetson discovers that the Duchess of Towers, Mary, is his now-grown childhood sweetheart. Their love revives, but Peter is sentenced to life in prison for an accidental killing. Mary comes to him in dreams and they are able to live out their romance in a dream world.

A hypnotic Svengali controls the singing voice of a young starlet, but he cannot control her heart. This 1915 Maurice Tourneur film is a version of the famous duMaurier novel. It was later done in a more famous 1931 film named Svengali with John Barrymore. The later film obviously changed the title due to the huge presence of its' star.

Based on the novel Trilby by George du Maurier. A girl named Trilby meets Svengali, a musician and hypnotist, who claims he can turn her into a talented singer via hypnosis.

A young, dark-haired woman performs a dance inspired by George du Maurier's character Trilby, in an early modern dance style reminiscent of Isadora Duncan. She dances barefoot without stockings and is dressed in a long, flowing gown bound across the bosom in Grecian style, with inside fringe and a draped cape hooked to her wrist. She also wears what appears to be a garland headpiece. Holding her gown with one hand throughout, the dancer performs a series of kicks and turns with leg kicks front and back, rocking, and round de jambe.

Based on Harper's Monthly short story, novel, and play, Trilby, by George Du Maurier. Considered the first book-to-film adaption.
