Dirigido por Eduardo Calvet, o programa faz uma abordagem da carreira do diretor Ivan Cardoso, criador de um gênero próprio de cinema que ele mesmo passou a denominar de “terrir”, uma vez que sua obra mescla comédia, terror e erotismo. Desde o início da carreira, em 1970, já dirigiu 28 filmes, entre longas e curtas-metragens, alcançando sucesso de público com O Segredo da Múmia (1982) – 300 mil espectadores – e As Sete Vampiras (1986) – um milhão de pessoas. O programa conta com depoimentos de personalidades que participaram dos filmes de Ivan Cardoso, como Nuno Leal Maia e Leo Jaime – presentes em As Sete Vampiras (1986) e O Escorpião Escarlate (1988) –, Karina Bacchi – que atuou no longa mais recente do diretor, Um Lobisomem na Amazônia (2005), além do crítico de cinema Rodrigo Fonseca, do cineasta José Mojica Marins, dentre outros.
