Toda a treta se dispersou e cresceu nas redes sociais e os especialistas têm tido alguma dificuldade em encontrar a genuína conversa da treta. Mas quem é vivo sempre falece, e também sempre aparece. Alex (Helder Mendes) é um tipo que está a ter um dia mau. Uma série de tragédias que ocorrem em catadupa leva a que se sinta compelido a tomar um veneno que seria inicialmente para o seu cão. Mas logo após tomar esse veneno, recebe um conjunto de informações que o levam a encarar a vida com um sorriso, com uma excepção: já tomou o veneno. Com apenas 4 horas para recuperar o antídoto, Alex vai ao inferno e volta numa sequência de malabarismos narrativos que fazem com que tudo lhe aconteça.

Lisbon, 1938. Mr. Pereira is the editor of the culture section of an evening paper. Although fascism is on the rise in Europe, like in nearby civil war Spain or even inside Portugal itself in the form of Salazar's regime, Pereira only concerns himself with writing bios and translating French novels. Things change after he hires a young writer as his assistant, getting to know also his girlfriend – both opponents to the regime – and reluctantly helps them when they begin to get in trouble for subversive activities. Eventually, he's forced to take a stand...
