Master is a talented writer in Moscow working on a manuscript about the biblical Jesus and Pontius Pilate. Authorities in Moscow are harassing Master by surveillance and intimidation. Victimized by their harassment, Master throws his manuscript into the fire, before he is locked up in a mental clinic. His assistant and Muse Margarita tries to help Master using the supernatural powers she got from the devil - Woland who is visiting Moscow..

Based on materials from real criminal cases, it follows the trial of the trade mafia.

The story happens mainly around "The Old Arbat Street" in the center of Moscow, where always concentrate vendors, poor young artists and musicians. The hero of this film is a boy named Mitiya,who lives with eccentric elder friend in an apartment house on "The Old Arbat". In fact, people who then appear around Mitiya are all unique, eccentric and the space of the apartment house begins to have an unrealistic character as a miniature of unstable society in the end of Soviet Union.

Late 21st century. Archeologists unearthed a company of century-old military robots, but lost them during the transportation. Robots hide on an uninhabited island and later kidnap Alisa Seleznyova, a teenage actress playing Little Red Riding Hood, and Baba-Yaga, a mischievous robot actress playing a witch. Now those two have to stop the robots before much damage has been done.
