Julia, Vadim, Nestor, Timothée e Samuel são cinco amigos de infância que sempre sonharam em morar juntos. Quando Samuel se oferece para pagar metade do aluguel, os outros quatro não pensam duas vezes e resolvem se mudar para um apartamento onde os cinco possam habitar. No entanto, assim que eles terminam a mudança, Samuel fica sem um tostão no bolso, informação que ele decide não partilhar.

Todas as pessoas numa área rural podem contar com Jean-Pierre (François Cluzet), o médico que os atende, cura e os tranquiliza diariamente, sete dias por semana, há anos. Com Jean-Pierre doente, Natalie (Marianne Denicourt), recém-formada, chega da cidade para tentar ajudá-lo e enfrenta dois grandes dilemas: conseguir se adaptar a esta nova vida e, principalmente, substituir o homem que a população acredita ser insubstituível.

On the bus, he meets two other candidates, Pauline, an unscrupulous young woman, and Luc Dunoyer, a brilliant specialist of Descartes. The presence of the latter, who has never failed an exam, makes Jean lose all his means. But Dunoyer has fallen asleep on the bus.

Albert, a sound engineer who is chronically hesitant successively meets three charming young women who will, each in their own way, provoke and help him to get a better hold of himself.
