Win, a famous singer and songwriter has come to the worst moment in his life when he realizes that his fame is going to fade. Win cannot face the truth and escapes from the city to quietly stay in Mae Hong Sorn province where he meets Mok, a competent pianist girl who becomes his inspiration to redeem his fame.

Ray McDonald is a photographer who is down on his luck when he travels to Pakse in Southern Laos to take on an assignment as a wedding photographer. There he meets a beautiful Lao woman who becomes his inspiration to write a movie script about a Thai-Lao romance. In real life, however, the photographer has a slim chance to win the heart of the woman who may already have a boyfriend.

Sorn, a multiracial photographer, is assigned by his editor to take pictures of Laos, where he’s reluctant to go. Even though, Sorn is half-Laotian, going back to his homeland is never on his mind. Sorn arrives at Pak-Cher town where he hires a guide, Noi to take him out to the best picture spots in Laos.

When the time for their college entrance exams comes along, all of them decide they'll need some special help in order to pass. They visit a holy banyan tree and pray for themselves to easily pass the exams. Their wish is granted. However, when they come back to the holy banyan tree to redeem their vow to the tree, they find that the holy banyan tree has been cut down and transferred to be made into toothpicks! The foursome must now struggle to collect every little piece of the tree before their fortune reverses.
