Gus Lewis

After Tom Hurndall is shot in the head in Gaza, his parents Anthony and Jocelyn arrive in Israel wanting to know how it could have happened. They expect sympathy and cooperation from the Israeli authorities, but are instead met with an official explanation that fails to tally with any eye-witness accounts, and a wall of silence. When an Israeli army report attempts to whitewash the incident, the Hurndalls decide the only way to establish the truth is to launch their own investigation into the shooting, a process which brings them face to face with both the Open-Fire regulations of the Israeli army in Gaza, and the soldier who pulled the trigger.

Inglaterra, anos 50. Quando Max Raphael (Hugh Bonneville) é nomeado supervisor num remoto hospital psiquiátrico, vai viver lá e é acompanhado pela esposa, Stella (Natasha Richardson), e o filho, Charlie (Gus Lewis). Stella sente-se entediada de participar de “importantes reuniões” com as mulheres de outros funcionários do asilo. Logo isto muda, pois ela começa a se sentir atraída por um interno, Edgar Stark (Marton Csokas), que matou a esposa (foi diagnosticado como tendo distúrbio de personalidade severo, com traços de ciúme mórbido). Ela se envolve fortemente com Edgar, sem se preocupar se está arriscando sua família, sua sanidade e até mesmo sua própria vida.

Logo após o assassinato dos seus pais, o herdeiro do império industrial Wayne viaja pelo mundo, procurando meios para lutar contra a injustiça e virar o medo contra aqueles que perseguem os indefesos. No regresso da viagem, Bruce Wayne percebe que pode assumir um alter-ego, o de homem-morcego, um super-herói finalmente capaz de combater as forças do mal e proteger a sua cidade e o mundo.
