The film covers the period from 1947, when UPA troops broke with fights abroad, and to autumn of 1959, when in Munich KGB agent Bohdan Stashynskyi killed Stepan Bandera.

The film takes place in 1905. The main character is a lawyer Mykhalyuk, a social revolutionary, an intellectual. He is the bearer of destructive power aimed at loved ones. Peace of mind leaves everyone who falls under its influence. He tries to compensate for his spirituality with love adventures.

A strange phenomenon has been noticed on the outskirts of our Solar system that quickly approaches the Earth. It's called "Orion's Loop." A spaceship with a crew of people and androids identical to them is sent to intercept the anomaly. But strange events start happening as the spaceship approaches the mysterious loop.

This ideologically charged film as a typical sample of Soviet version of history portrays the events in Ukraine in 1921 after the defeat of Ukrainian liberation struggle and the occupation of the country by invading Bolshevik hordes. The Bolsheviks are good guys and Ukrainian rebels refusing to submit to a new, this time Soviet, slavery are portrayed as bandits and brigands fighting against their own people.

The main motive of the film - a tragic love of Lesya Ukrainka to Marxist revolutionary Sergei Merzhinskiy. The film is about the poetess' trip to her beloved, in the literal and metaphorical sense at the same time.

About hardships of the first years of War, which fell to the lot of ordinary people in Ukraine, who got under the yoke of fascist occupation, and heroic struggle against the invaders. A young Russian woman asks a Red Army soldier to spend the night with her in the wake of the Nazi invasion. Fearing she may soon perish, the woman hopes for one night of romance before what could be a horrible demise.
