Os Estados Unidos e a União Soviética possuem bases próprias na Lua. Os soviéticos enviaram um casal, enquanto que os americanos enviaram dois homens solteiros. A NASA precisa sempre substituir a equipe, já que os astronautas enlouquecem caso permaneçam por muito tempo na base - o que não ocorre com os vizinhos soviéticos. Para resolver a questão, a NASA decide substituir sua equipe e procura um casal de cientistas para a função. Os escolhidos são Pete Mattemore (Jerry Lewis) e Eileen Forbes (Connie Stevens). Só que, em nome da moralidade, o governo americano exige que eles se casem antes de serem enviados ao espaço.

Appointing themselves as the girl's unofficial protectors are Indian scout Scott Brady, trapper Don Haggerty and (reluctantly) gambler Paul Richards.
