Winwood e Clapton cruzaram caminhos musicais em 1969 com a formação do Blind Faith, um grupo pioneiro na fusão de rock e blues em um tremendo sucesso de estúdio e palco. Apesar da aclamação da crítica e do público, a banda teve vida curta com apenas um álbum e uma breve turnê de 1969 que estreou em 12 de julho no Madison Square Garden e terminou em 24 de agosto no Havaí. Desde então, Winwood e Clapton permaneceram amigos, mas só se apresentaram juntos algumas vezes ao longo dos anos para uma música ocasional em um evento de caridade. Os shows de 2008 no Madison Square Garden foram os primeiros shows completos de Winwood-Clapton em quase 40 anos.

Based on the life and death of Gov't Mule bassist Allen Woody, and the making of a double-disc tribute album (Gov't Mule's The Deep End , Volumes 1 & 2) featuring a host of legendary bass players. Throughout the film, director Mike Gordon (of Phish, who also plays on the album) interviews Woody's family and bandmates and also discusses the philosophy and technique of bass playing with a number of the instrument's legends, including Chris Squire, Les Claypool, John Entwistle, Flea, Bootsy Collins, Mike Watt, Roger Glover and others.
