Vera is a cartoonist. After the death of her husband and son, she moved from Moscow to the small town where she spent her childhood. Vera starts doing animation with children at a local club. Among her students there is a very strange boy with unusual and incomprehensible drawings.

Sometimes something seems annoyingly unacceptable and the circumstances do not develop in the best way.

A lonely old man lives in the old Moscow courtyard, his gray life is transformed when he finds a helpless little daw that has fallen out of the nest in the courtyard. But the old man himself turns out to be just as defenseless in the face of the thoughtless cruelty of the company of neighboring boys. Is there among them at least one with a pure and kind heart who will come to the aid of the old man and his pet?

In the mid-1990s, Guerra wrote scripts for two animated films by A. Khrzhanovsky, thus making his debut as an author in animation. These are the famous films "The Lion with the Gray Beard" and "The Long Journey". Animated films, where impossible fantasies come to life, seem to be the true territory of Guerra. The movement towards Russia becomes for the Italian master a movement along the vertical of creativity, a metaphor for the limitless possibilities of imagination.

In the late 17th century Russia, a dark magician arrives at the capital in search of the ultimate power hidden within the Magic Worlds, the entrance to which is located inside the Sukharev Tower and is tightly guarded by Jacob Bruce, the Wizard of Balance. The main characters are a woman and her son who live happily till the moment when strange things begin to occur with the boy. Parts of him start to disappear but he keeps it from his mother. In the end the truth comes out, but it is too late. The woman begins to suspect that all events are connected with the mysterious lollipop her son could not live without.

The cartoon is based on the book by A. Bitov and R. Gabriadze "Hardworking Pushkin".
