Esse grupo de indivíduos problemáticos passam por maus bocados, acumulando dívidas, sendo enviados pra prisão e até morrendo (de novo). Tudo começa quando Hitsugaya e a sua equipa estavam transportando um tesouro real chamado Ouin, até ser atacado por um grupo misterioso. O tesouro é roubado e Hitsugaya que no momento estava enfrentando o líder do grupo, desaparece. Dias depois, Ichigo que já havia sido informado do desaparecimento, encontra com Hitsugaya ferido, e sem querer dizer nada, Ichigo acaba tendo que lutar com Hitsugaya. No meio da batalha, um hollow aparece dizendo que veio buscar Hitsugaya Toshirou e o leva embora. Com isso, é enviado o 8º Capitão e a equipa de resgate de Hitsugaya para o mundo humano, mas eles são derrotados e o responsável foi o próprio Hitsugaya. Com este fato, é dada a ordem de execução de Hitsugaya Toshirou pela Soul Society.

Este filme não é continuação do anime, apenas uma adaptação de toda a primeira temporada, contendo ainda alguns eventos que não estão na série.
