O filme utiliza cenas reais e revela os minutos finais do presidente eleito Salvador Allende, entrincheirado e resistindo solitário no Palácio La Moneda, onde foi assassinado pelos militares chilenos.

The suffocating atmosphere of the run-down mansion in the outskirts of Santiago represents the deterioration of the bourgeoisie, and sets the scene for the total collapse of Andres.
