Lúcio Cardoso nasceu em Curvelo (MG), em 1912. Escreveu novelas, romances, poesias, diários, peças teatrais. Autor de “A Crônica da Casa Assassinada” e “Mãos Vazias”, romances adaptados para o cinema por Paulo César Saraceni e Luiz Carlos Lacerda respectivamente. Foi também cineasta e pintor, atividade a que se dedicou quando sofreu o derrame cerebral, que o impossibilitou de escrever. Morreu em 1968 em conseqüências da doença.
