To Moscow have arrived the participants of the international conference of the zoophilologists and also the international jury which is to elect for the world festival the best performance of the program of Moscow circus. Mrs Whistler (Iva Janzurová), British associate professor, makes her understood with the animals in their language but the Czech professor Ruzicka (Jirí Sovák), though he is capable of using the animals language, prefers teaching the animals the human language. Ruzicka's friend, the poodle Archibald, speaks "in Human" very well. The scientific dispute ends with a bet - if Ruzicka teaches the circus elephant to sing, Mrs Whistler will eat up her hat.

The film is based on the story "Hunter's Smiles" by writer Ostap Vishnya. Once a year, it would seem, normal, even very respectable people are turning into children who have received a long-awaited toy, or to some kind of "barons of münchhausen". Famous singers, famous surgeons, pensioners, peaceful accountants - all fall into childhood: they store up with waders, dry gunpowder, clean hunting rifles. And from their conversations trembling takes: one tells how he hunted immediately after two bears, the second "sewers" he put like rabbits, the third one shot ten ducks "shot" ... This all means that the hunting season has come!

Alexei Ivanovich Tyutyurin, a very kind and gentle man by nature, has been working as a hairdresser for twenty years. When the opportunity arises to upgrade to the head of the hall, he is faced with a problem — in the team he has a reputation as a constantly late person and an incorrigible liar. But Alexei doesn't deceive anyone — he really gets into unusual situations on the way to work. No one believes in these fables until amazing visitors begin to come to the hairdresser.

In the southern town, a gang of "currency traders" is operating, led by the Chief and his assistant Kozodoyev. A modest Soviet clerk and an exemplary family man Semyon Semyonovich Gorbunkov goes on a foreign cruise on a motor ship, on which Kozodoyev also sailed, who must pick up diamonds in one of the eastern cities and transport them in a plaster hand. But due to a misunderstanding, instead of a swindler, an unsuspecting Gorbunkov falls in the appointed place, and a precious plaster is imposed on him. That's where it all starts...

In this comic but dated story, nerdy Shurik travels to Caucas in search of native legends and folklore. But what he finds is a beautiful girl whom, due to intoxication and deceit of the local "gang", he ends up literally stealing for the local deceitful governor. All the time Shurik thinks that it is all just a one old Caucasian custom. When he, finally, realizes what he did he goes out in search for the girl of his dreams. Written by Ptah Hoteb

São 3 episódios sobre Shurika, um estudante nerd. 1º - "Naparnik" ("Parceiro"). Shurika tem uma luta em um ônibus com um valentão chamado Fedya porque este não queria dar o lugar reservado para uma mulher grávida. Fedya é punido com trabalho comunitário num canteiro de obras onde Shurika trabalha em tempo parcial. Naturalmente, Fedya quer vingança. 2º - "Navazhdenie" ("Impressão Estranha"). É hora do exame final. Shurika está muito ocupado tentando encontrar material para estudar. De repente percebe o material necessário nas mãos de alguém. Segue essa pessoa pela cidade, por todos os lugares, tentando ler sobre o ombro. 3º - "Operatsiya Y" ("Operação Y"). Um diretor de depósito, tentando encobrir desfalques em seu estoque, contrata três criminosos para simular um roubo. Na noite da Operação "Y", a velha senhora que guarda o depósito pediu a seu inquilino, que obviamente é o Shurika, para substitui-la no serviço de guarda.
