Tendo como influência as gravuras bíblicas de Gustave Doré, o diretor Ferdinand Zecca utiliza um sofisticado sistema de colorização na película, desenvolvido pela produtora francesa Pathé Frères. Lucien Nonguet também assina a direção do filme, que foi considerado um dos filmes mais longos para sua época.
