Kiki é uma menina corajosa e travessa que segue sua tradição maternal de se tornar uma bruxa. Ela só possui um dom de magia, o de voar. Como toda jovem bruxa, aos 12 anos ela deve se aventurar em uma cidade sozinha. Acompanhada por seu gato Jiji, Kiki sai em sua vassoura e chega em uma cidade perto do mar. Ao conhecer novas pessoas e passar por aventuras, Kiki ganha mais confiança e autoconsciência e, com a ajuda de Kiki, o povo percebe que todo mundo possui alguma mágica que lhes dá sua própria personalidade e vitalidade.

A disillusioned Natsume arrives at Coin de Rue, a popular Tokyo pastry shop, begging for work. Aiming to become a high-calibre pastry chef, she is determined to overcome both her past and the challenges ahead. Pastry critic Tomura is a frequent visitor to Coin de Rue. Moved by Natsume's persistence, he slowly begins to confront his own painful past aided, of course, by mouthfuls of tasty pastries.
