Apesar das intrigas orquestradas nos bastidores do reino, Wu (Carina Lau) está prestes a se tornar a primeira imperatriz chinesa. Entretanto, quando quatro pessoas ligadas à construção de um Buda gigante morrem de forma misteriosa, seus opositores logo vêem no fato uma chance de impedir a coroação. Para resolver o caso ela chama o detetive D (Andy Lau), que tem que resolvê-lo até o dia da posse. Para tanto ele conta com a ajuda da empregada da futura imperatriz (Li Bingbing) e do investigador Pei Donglai (Chao Deng).

In a summer holiday, a father (Mr. Kuk) with his children (Ku Fung and Little Kuk-Ku) has decided to open a noodle bar on a 2-month lease. He has great expectations for his noodle business. Kuk Fung quickly falls in love with Carlily (Kuk Fung's friend). Meanwhile, Little Kuk-ku has met a new friend, Wo who is working at the noodle bar. As the vacation is going, the nodle bar has to be closed. Mr Kuk's business performance didn't come up to his expectations, but it ends up with two puppy loves.

The once happily married couple turned adversaries when husband Alex comes home and informs his wife Bo Bo that he is leaving her for another woman. Furthermore, he gained custody of their only daughter. The series of incidents drives Bo Bo into a deep depression and she arrives at Alex's house-warming party uninvited. Doom draws near as the story comes to a startling conclusion.
