Martin Riggs e Roger Murtaugh são dois policiais que se tornam parceiros para lutar contra uma quadrilha de traficantes de drogas, composta de ex-militares da Guerra do Vietnã. Só que nessa missão, Murtaugh ainda terá que lidar com as tendências suicidas de Riggs.
