Laila falls for Dr. Hussein who decides to marry her so that he could take on the responsibility for her heart surgery. Laila starts to believe that Hussein doesn't love her and that he only sees her as his patient, while Hussein thinks that Laila is in love with his friend.
Baher is a merchant in love with his serf Wedad who goes bankrupt because his merchandises are stolen. In order to pay his debts Wedad sacrifices herself and decides to sell herself as serf to another wealthy master.
