"Dia dos Mortos" mostra as consequências de um ataque terrorista biológico na cidade de Leadville, que é isolada, sem poder ter nenhum contato com o mundo lá fora. Mas este ataque é apenas o começo do terror. Os infectados pela toxinas se transformaram em zumbis que se alimentam de carne humana. Um grupo de sobreviventes se refugia em uma base militar, mas alguns podem ter se contaminadoe as suspeitas e o medo crescem. Tudo piora quando o estoque de água e comida começa a se esgotar. Enfrentando a resistência de seu editor Moses Ashford, ele acaba demitido por tocar no ponto nevrálgico que é a corrupção dentro do sistema de combate ao tráfico de drogas. Sem ter como sustentar a história, Pollack precisa se aliar ao promotor local Wallace, que aceita aprofundar essa investigação.

A sheriff begins an investigation into the death of a local transsexual after hearing that high ranking politicians may have been involved. Although he is homophobic, his investigation causes him to be rejected by others, forcing him to seek help from the people he once despised.

Jimmy, a young boy trying to gain acceptance from his peers, is horrified when he sees a circus trainer abusing a bear cub. One of the circus employees tells Jimmy that there is a magic cave in the hills nearby that can transport people to another time, and that maybe he can use it to help the bear. Jimmy does some exploring, finds the cave, and is amazed to find himself transported back to the early 1800's where he encounters Jeremiah, a nature-loving mountain man with a bear friend of his own. Jeremiah agrees to come to the future and help out Jimmy, but the 21st century is quite different from the 19th, and springing the bear cub will not be as easy as Jeremiah thinks. Not in any way related to the "Grizzly Adams" television series.
