As shobijin (termo japonês para "belas pequeninas", também são conheçidas como fadas gêmeas) são raptadas de sua ilha por um inescrupuloso bandido, que vê nelas suas chances de enriquecer. Enquanto isso surge à larva de MOTHRA que segue para o Japão para tentar resgatar as duas Subujins. Na procura pelas pequeninas Mothra devasta o Japão, causando destruição e pânico. Primeira aparição da mariposa gigante "Mothra", que algum tempo depois, teve participações (De grande importância) em varios outros filmes, especialmente os de Godzilla.
