Hundreds of extras are trapped in a huge stage where they pretend with hysterical joy that they are celebrating a party that will be broadcast on television on New Year's Eve. But more than a week later, the clash between several staff members threatens to prolong indefinitely such a maddening nightmare.

Um casal muda-se com seu bebê recém-nascido para uma nova casa. É uma linda casa antiga que foi totalmente reformada. Antes de dormir, o casal checa a babá-eletrônica que foi instalada no quarto do bebê. Mas eles logo vão descobrir que há mais alguém vivendo naquela casa, alguém cuja presença é sentida toda noite, sempre no quarto do bebê.

Rafael Gonzalez (Guillermo Toledo) é um homem chique, que trabalha como vendedor de uma sofisticada loja de departamentos. Almería, Tabernas desert, Spain, 2002. Texas Hollywood is a dilapidated and dusty town where Western movies have not been shot for decades. Julián Torralba and his partners, veteran film stuntmen, survive there, recreating pathetic action scenes for the pleasure of the few foreign tourists who visit the isolated region.
