Travis (Seann William Scott) é um jovem de família rica que foi para a Amazônia em busca de uma mina de ouro perdida, popularmente chamada de Helldorado. Para encontrá-lo sua família contrata Beck (The Rock), que parte para o Brasil à sua busca. Após alguns desentendimentos iniciais, Travis convence Beck a ajudá-lo em sua busca. Porém eles precisarão enfrentar Hatcher (Christopher Walken), o chefe de uma mineradora, que também está em busca de Helldorado.

Prot é um homem misterioso, que vive dizendo ter vindo do planeta K-Pax, distante mil anos-luz da Terra. Por causa disto ele é internado em um hospício, onde conhece o Dr. Mark Powell, um psiquiatra disposto a provar que ele na verdade sofre de um grave distúrbio de personalidade. Mas as descrições de Prot sobre como é a vida em seu planeta acabam encantando os demais pacientes do hospício, fazendo com que eles queiram ir com Prot quando ele diz que está próximo o dia em que deverá voltar ao seu planeta.
Costume Design
An uplifting family drama about the danger of drug addiction, DARKNESS BEFORE DAWN stars Meredith Baxter (TV's FAMILY TIES). Baxter plays Mary Ann, a nurse at a methadone clinic who falls in love with one of her patients, Guy (Stephen Lang). While helping him overcome his drug addiction, she still manages to hide her own dalliances with narcotics--so well, in fact, that no one suspects at all. The pair marry and have a child, but soon Mary Ann's troubled past and hidden addiction threaten the stability of the happy life that she and Guy finally have for themselves. DARKNESS BEFORE DAWN illustrates the power of family love and how it can overcome even the greatest personal problems.

A former child show host misses the good old days. He and his sidekick from the show are doing a gig when the place gets robbed and the sidekick murdered. The host is the only one who saw the robber well so the robber goes after him.
