In August 1942, during the Second World War, Six Jewish children are trying to escape the Nazis. They are hidden by the resistance in the Chambord Castle, where paintings from Le Louvre are being stored as well. The Nazis are looking for paintings from private collections that would be hidden there as well.

Alfred, a resident of a retirement home, can no longer get to sleep, disturbed by the incessant bedhopping of the other residents. Exasperated, he decides to leave in the middle of the night to sleep outside. But between the anti-homeless furniture and the surveillance robots, sleeping has become a luxury and Alfred doesn't know it yet.

Arnaud (Kevin Hazaïs) é um jovem que acaba de perder o pai, e decide seguir os passos dele, tornando-se carpinteiro. Um dia, ele conhece Madeleine (Adèle Haenel), uma garota bruta e de poucos amigos, que acredita no fim do mundo e no caos social. Por isso, ela pensa apenas em sobreviver a qualquer custo; já ele não se preocupa com essas coisas. O sonho de Madeleine é entrar na divisão mais difícil do exército. Arnaud fica fascinado com ela, e passa a acompanhar o treinamento da amiga. Quando a garota parte para a divisão militar, ele decide se alistar também.
