Mario and Silvia are a typical Montevidean middle class couple, going through the trauma of retirement. Due to Mario’s oversight in what was to be one of his last operations a small dog dies. Shortly after, Mario and Silvia find that thieves have entered their house. They have no choice but to leave and stay at their daughter’s house, where they will enter a spiral of insecurity and paranoia that will drag them to violence and nonsense.

Leon, Flavia’s partner for eight years, has died. As Flavia mourns her loss, she is also confused, overwhelmed by daily tasks and situations which make her feel fragile and incomplete. Her very life is an unknown. Lucia, Leon’s daughter by his former wife, barges into Flavia’s life in search of the father gure who is no longer around. Her encounters with the child confront her with her own doubts and desire of being a mother. Flavia will have to resign herself to the fact that a life project has ended, and learn to find a new one.

18-year-old Nacho shows up at the cow-breeding ranch of his father, Marcos, whom he barely knows. His father is worried because, as the ranch’s yearly auction is approaching, several cows are dying without explanation. When Nacho finds out who is killing the cows and why, he understands the magnitude of the problem. Cornered by distress and confusion, he’ll have to choose: being a boss or not being a boss. Perpetuating the system, the insult, the abuse, or refusing to take part in it.
