The filmmaker films the last moments before she is evicted from the house in which she has been living for many years. The camera serves as the guide in this process of mourning, building an archive of the house, the neighbourhood, the people that lived there or the ones that visit.

On a day like any other, Alexandre returns home to find out his mother has disappeared.

Adaptation by the director Inês Oliveira from the traditional Portuguese tale «O Sapo e a Rapariga». The laundry room is closed and a young woman (Rita Cabaço) has to learn how to wash clothes by hand with the wise Deolinda (Isabel Ruth), who tells her a strange story of enchantment.

Side Effects is the story of a woman who's not afraid to believe that happiness is not only possible but the only truth to be achieved. A woman who won't give up believing in people. Odete, ajudante de supermercado em Lisboa, sonha em ser mãe. No entanto, quando ela revela seu desejo ao namorado, ele termina o relacionamento. Isto não impede Odete de ficar cada vez mais obcecada com a ideia da maternidade. Em outro ponto da cidade, o amor entre Rui e Pedro é interrompido quando este morre em um acidente de carro. Sozinho, Rui começa a perder a vontade de viver. Mas, estranhamente, o fantasma de Pedro parece querer unir Odete e Rui para realizar o sonho de uma e terminar com a desesperança do outro.

Every year the Portuguese Army recruits thousands of Citizens to constitute the National Service. At 10 pm ligths are killed in the quarters. “Hey? Are you awake? Those guys are fucking you up, you hear me? I mean, I don’t know you man, but to me you’re like a brother.”
