Little Women The Broadway Musical
Mr. Laurence
Produced live by Artistry Theater and Visual Arts in November 2021, "Little Women the Broadway Musical" is an adaptation of Louisa May Alcott’s beloved book based on her own life. Little Women is a captivating and timeless story about family, friendship, heartache, hope and everlasting love. A coming of age story set in a time when the world was changing, about forging your own path and deciding what traditions to carry with you and what to leave behind.
The Grand Duchess - Wichita
With apologies to a beloved children’s story, the Wichita Grand Opera might well be referred to as “The Little Opera Company That Could.” Friday was the opening night of the WGO’s final production for the 2015 season – Jacques Offenbach’s “The Grand Duchess” – and this little-known comic gem did not disappoint. Offenbach’s operettas inspired and influenced the works of Johann Strauss, Jr. and Arthur Sullivan. So, even though his works are less familiar in the United States, fans of “Die Fledermaus” or “The Pirates of Penzance” will likely find this amusing work familiar territory.
The Metropolitan Opera: Boris Godunov
Boyar in Attendance
Stephen Wadsworth’s production of Mussorgsky’s epic masterpiece brilliantly captures the suffering and ambition of the Russian people at a critical time in their nation’s history. René Pape is riveting as the Tsar of the title, giving a commanding and charismatic performance of one of the greatest bass roles in the repertoire—his Boris is dominating, tortured, flawed and utterly unforgettable. The extraordinary cast and the Met Orchestra and Chorus are led by Russian maestro Valery Gergiev, the foremost Mussorgsky interpreter of our time.
