Quatro amigos de Maratea, Nicola Palmieri (Rocco Papaleo), Salvatore Chiarelli (Paolo Briguglia), Franco Cardillo (Max Gazzé) e Rocco Santamaria (Alessandro Gassman), desde pequenos haviam fundado uma pequena banda. Durante o verão, os quatro decidem participar do festival nacional do teatro-canção de Scanzo Jonico e se dão o nome de "Le Pale Eoliche".
