Last Year in Utopia documents an experimental set-up: a staged group media experiment, isolated from the outside world, is reconstructed on the site where the original events unfolded. The boundaries between autonomy and heteronomy dissolve in new role assignments as the film makes the power structure behind the artificially created utopia visible.
Costume Design
Clemens lives and breathes his grandfather’s stories. When his grandfather passes away, it is difficult for him to understand that it is now his turn to continue telling his stories. Story-telling becomes a way for him to not only keep the stories but also the memory of his grandfather alive.

No final de março de 1945, no campo de concentração Buchenwald, o prisioneiro Hans Pippig descobre em uma mala uma criança judia escondida. Se denunciar a criança de 3 anos com certeza morrerá. Por outro lado, a violação de regras do campo ameaçaria a longa preparação para a revolta dos prisioneiros contra a SS.
