Dika, nicknamed Kambing, continues his study in Australia and takes a finance degree that he doesn't have any interest in. Problem arises because he has to undergo long distance relationship with his girlfriend that causes the swelling of expenses and study difficulties. Then he meets a friend from primary school who believes that he can be a comedy writer. This opens up his mind in his search for identity.

Since moving to this new house, Caca is often heard laughing and talking in her room that she occupies alone. Caca tells her parents, Devi and Handy, that there is another girl, Cinta, playing in the room every afternoon at the time of “maghrib” (Muslim prayer time at 6 pm). Caca’s parents at first believe that the girl is just her imaginary friend. But after a while Devi believes her when she starts to experience scary occurrences around sunset.

Joshua, a high school student, is a troubled adolescent. At school, he was the object of ridicule of Mike and his gang. He was hung on the school's fence and his head was pushed down the toilet. At home, he was often beaten by his father and scolded by his mother for no apparent reason. His parents would be furious for his slightest mistake. Katie pursued Josh only to make fun of him. So Josh felt humiliated when Katie was also dated Mike's friend. Josh became more withdrawned and with the student counselor, he cannot express his feelings. Only Shabina, the daughter of the police captain, Margono, understands him. Then he bought a homemade pistol and plots revenge. He holds hostage his six friends who have insulted him, including Mike and Katie, in the school.

Regi suffers from depression since childhood, being raised by wealthy parents who have little time for her, but plenty to fight with and cheat on each other. While in college she meets and becomes close to Rajib, a drug dealer. Developing an intense hatred for men, inspired by her violent and insensitive father, she identifies as a lesbian. Her introduction to the drug-scene engulfs her and she develops a cocaine habit which rapidly accelerates into a preference for White China heroin. She meets and falls in love with Rajibs ex drug-dealing partner, Vela, who has already become a hardcore junkie. Her and Vela's downward spiral into chronic addiction is portrayed powerfully throughout the film as is their intense attachment to each other. The plot (based on a true story) is exceptional in its depiction of the drug problems in Indonesia, the often terrible 'solutions' to these problems, and the reasons behind why they occur.
